I've just made a "CLAPPER" out of a set of butter patters/shapers, old fashioned wooden one's !!!

And I've got my eye on the water cooler at work !! I'm sure I could make something special with one of those empty water bottles !!!!

  1. We could turn into a stomp like group!!! The more variety the better, bring it on Cow Bell!! Today a clapper, tomorrow who knows, maybe a bum bell or a foot shaker....

  2. i think its a good idea to use recycled materials for percussion . When the weather is too wet or too hot you wont want to use your best drums so having a good supply of all weather bangables is a must !!.One thing to note is to give priority to letting your object freely vibrate but at the same time keeping it secure , this is the fine line with all percussion but when you get it right you could get a note out of anything. I like the idea of a line of water bottles to make a giant rhythm block !!. And what on earth is a bum bell ?

  3. I'm still laughing about letting my objects freely vibrate!!!!!!! I think they've been doing that for some years now !!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I don't know what to make of a bum bell sounds a bit painful to me !!!!!!!! I think I've had a foot shaker in a cocktail bar in Hong Kong a few years back !!!LOL

  4. Yeh, it's the sound that's important. I put two table legs in the box that make a great sound, if played right. But are you sure those butter patters are not priceless antiques?

  5. As you say acky it's the sound thats important !!!! who needs money !!!!!

  6. Our house and garden is suddenly full of potential musical instruments... Oooh I love it when a Blog comes together and surrounds you with inspirational instuments don't you, can't wait to see your Butter Patter Clapper... We could do a whole kitcheny percussive soundscape what with Ackys Table Legs and your Butter Patter Clapper...

  7. Loving your colourful Blogscape... 'Rainbow Ruthie' x
